Merry Christmas!

This morning the kids were up early and all excited about it being Christmas morning, who can blame them! It really is such an exciting time when your a child. Santa comes into your house when you're sleeping and leaves presents under the Christmas tree, how awesome is that!
Every year I think that my kids get spoiled, not only by my wife and I, but also by our family. It's nice to have a family that care about our children and want to spoil them too.

Lunch was basically how I expected it to be in yesterday's post and now I'm ready for an early night since we were up so early today.
Tomorrow is the last day that I'm on call for these holidays so I expect to be having a few more beers in the evenings or maybe even some bourbons. I'm looking forward to not having to worry about work possibly calling me and expecting me to deal with something out of the blue. It is unlikely that it will happen in the first place but just having it there in the back of my mind has meant that I haven't fully relaxed just yet.
The weather over the next few days is meant to be getting hotter and hotter, up to almost 40°C which is about the hottest we can expect in this part of Australia. Usually we get these sorts of temps at the end of January or early February so it is unusual to be getting them this early in Summer. The whole weather pattern however appears to have been about a month ahead of itself the last few seasons for some reason. For the last few years it had seemed that the weather was almost a month late as we were having colder starts to Summer and Winters that seemed to drag on well into Spring. I don't know what happened this year, probably some sort of El Nino or something and now everything is now coming early instead of late.
