This time next week.

This time next Saturday I'll be sipping cocktails poolside at our holiday house. I've was hoping to find a slurpee machine or something similar so we could have pina coladas on tap for a while. I couldn't find any cheap slurpee machines and even the rental ones cost a fair bit if you want them for a couple of days. We've smashed our credit card pretty hard this month and I can't imagine that it's going to be small next month either so I'll have to give the frozen cocktail machines a miss. Maybe another holiday or for our house warming party or something like that.
I'll have to purchase some pre-made cocktail mix or settle for Jack and Cola cans.
The idea of going up to the Gold Coast in early Autumn was to avoid the peak holiday season but also so the weather would be warm enough to still enjoy using the pool and going to the beach. This last week has continued to be pretty hot with some of the days still getting above 30°C. It's certainly been a long hot summer, by for one of the longest and hottest that I can remember. We've had hotter days, but I don't think we've had such sustained heat. It does make you wonder what the future holds.
I think by this time next week I'll be ready to put my feet up for a few days and just take it easy. It will be my kids first time flying so I'm sure they will be all kinds of nervous and excited about getting on a plane. I'm hoping that they don't freak out too much and just enjoy the experience. One of the kids will be with my wife and I and the other with their Nanny and Poppy on the plane which is a bit of a bugger as I'd really like to see both of them at the same time, hopefully we'll all be seated near each other.
