I think my desire to go motocamping came from watching a few people on youtube who have channels about motocamping and prepping and that sort of thing. I've always liked camping and tried to go several times a year with some mates. Then when I got the bike I didn't want to have to stop going camping, I kind of saw it as a challenge to down size all my camping kit and try to fit it all on the motorbike. That's when I started watching more motocamping videos on YouTube and came across one or two channels that make really good videos that I really enjoyed watching and looked forward to them releasing new content. After my first time motocamping and downsized some of my kit some more and tried again. It's very relaxing and exciting at the same time, heading off on a motorbike with everything you need for the weekend. Riding a longer distance than just to and from work and actually having a proper destination in mind, somewhere where you've never been previously or at least a different way of getting there. Riding the bike you are more involved with the journey, the journey really becomes more of the adventure than it ever is in a car. It can almost be more about the journey than the destination. Camping with minimal kit and enjoying using new bits of kit, boiling water to make a coffee using a tiny burner and a butane can using water that you carried with you, it's all rewarding and again, the act of making it is sometimes more rewarding than the result itself.
