Creating Space

My wife is looking at doing some further education this year, something that her work is going to be paying for. It's something that I've always thought that she would find beneficial so I'm glad that she is looking into it.
The unfortunate thing is that our house is really quite small and my wife has said that she wants a desk and a new PC for her to use. The issue is that we don't really have anywhere to another desk and chair. The kids have the sunroom where their PC is and a TV with the Xbox. My computer is in our bedroom and my wife has space for her laptop in the bedroom too but now she wants a full PC and her own space. I completely understand that and I want to come up with a solution for her, but I'm struggling to figure out a way that won't look awful or be in the way all time.
Before my daughter was born, we used her bedroom as a home office and we both had our own desks and PCs. When we realised that we'd have to move the PCs to somewhere else in the house we started looking at options and we couldn't really find anything that suited our needs. I ended up making a desk myself in our garage. It was to be a "hidden" desk so that our bedroom didn't end up looking too cluttered.

I'd never built anything like a desk before but I figured that it couldn't be too hard. I drew everything up in Google Sketch-up first so I got all the measurements basically right. Then we went down to the hardware store and bought all the bits I would need. It took several weekends to put it all together but I'm pretty pleased with the results and I've been using it for the last seven or so years.
The issues with the "hidden" desk are that there is nowhere to put the chair when the desk isn't in use so it clutters up the bedroom a little and although I got to have a desk, my wife lost hers, she just has a small space to use her laptop. It's not big enough for her to actually use as a desk for any sort of studying.
Now my wife is back at work, it will be very hard for us to share a desk at home as we'll both want to use it at the same time so it looks like we have to start the process again of figuring out where we are going to put another desk and PC. We spent a fair bit of time searching online yesterday and today and we couldn't really find something that would do what we need. I'm starting to think that to get what we need we'll have to get something custom made and this time I think it would be a bit beyond my skills. There isn't really any other space in our house where we could put something like another desk and chair without making other compromises that I'm not sure either of us really want to make. So far the best we've come up with is two smaller desks to replace the one that I built. The issue with that is that everything would be on display all the time and it won't look very tidy when not in use.
