After a slow start to the week I came home relatively strong and am happy that I met my step target. I didn't quite make my calories burnt target. Unfortunately I'm obviously drinking too much beer and not watching what I'm eating. I was hoping that with the effort I was putting in for the steps that I could eat what I like, ah well, I should have known better. I'm a little disappointed that I put on weight but I shouldn't have slacked off on Sunday and Monday. I obviously sail pretty close to the wind in terms of how much I actually need to do to lose weight and how much I am currently doing. I'm wondering that now I'm fairly consistently meeting the 70K step target for the week if I should increase it to make sure that I'm hitting the 4.6K average daily calorie burn. The graph is clearly showing that when I put the effort in to go further, the weight starts coming off. If I slack off, the weight starts coming back on. It's good to get confirmation and be able to track it week to week but now I really want to make sure that I'm losing weight more than ever.
I think that moving house kick started my body back into getting moving as ever since then I've had a little more energy each day. Even doing the work in the backyard has been a little easier on my body than I thought it would be, I haven't been too stiff and sore after a big day working in the yard. I've also been able to work longer and harder before needing a break and also recovering faster if I take a short break for some water or lunch.
My diet is still pretty bad and I'm drinking a few more beers than I should but as long as I'm losing weight and feeling a healthier I'm not going to beat myself up over it. When the physical labour of doing the backyard is over, I'll need to be careful that I don't slack off too much and that I also don't drink as much beer as I have been.
