I have three days off and I swear, no one at work does anything of any really value. I've got urgent emails to reply to where I can see that the others in my team were CC'd in and knew that I was away and they are perfectly capable of taking care of it.
As much as I could I replied to the emails and if there was any follow work required I made the rest of my team do it as I was super annoyed.
Someone from higher management made a decision that I don't agree with but I'm happy to do as I'm told. Unfortunately the rest of the team were happy to ignore what the consequences of the decision were and blindly went along with it so nothing has been put in place to deal with mess that is now unfolding.
I ended up knocking off early as I'd had enough and was seriously considering looking for work elsewhere again.
The work I do isn't that hard and the guys I work with are more than capable of doing the work if they would just choose to do it. For some reason they feel that avoiding all work and looking at the internet all day is acceptable or something and it just annoys the pants off of me. At least tomorrow is Friday and next week is meant to be pretty easy for me as I'll be doing some training, unfortunately that means that my team will no doubt be doing nothing again.
On a more positive note, the gas BBQ connection was finally installed this afternoon. We can once again have BBQs. It's been about a month and half since we've had one and for us that's a really long time. We will have BBQ usually once a week, sometimes more depending on the weather and what's on special.
