School Holidays

Today I dropped the kids off with their Nanny and Poppy where they will spend the next week down the coast. It's school holidays and my wife and I both have to work and the kids love going down the coast. It's handy to be able to rely on the in-laws to take the kids for at least a few nights during the school holidays.
Tomorrow is a public holiday so I get an extra day off  and as long as the weather is good I want to do some more work in the yard. Maybe give the grass a cut and get the last of the weeds out of the garden beds.
I weighed myself this morning before breakfast to get a true idea of how much weight I put on last week and how much harder I have to work to reach my goal of 90kgs by Christmas. I currently weigh 108kg so that's a gain of 1kg from last week.
My Dad is trying to lose weight too and he has a little competition going with his sister to see who can lose 6kgs before Christmas, I think he's going to struggle as he likes his food too much and he can't really exercise too well anymore. I don't want to end up like him, he's not too overweight but he's carrying more than he should.
I'm really going to make an effort to get the 10,000 steps in each day since the kids are away and I have no excuses not to push myself a little more when walking. I'll also be on call for the next week or two so I won't be able to have any beer either so it could be a good test to see just how much I can lose if I don't drink at all.
