Getting Closer to Getting Going

It was only a day or two ago that I was saying how it won't be easy to get started. It's funny how a little time to think can change your perception. I'm not saying that it'll be easy, but I think the initial goal of filming the intro by the end of August could still be achievable. The new camera mount for the bike AND the Android adapter have arrived and it's got me thinking. Over the weekend I'm going to try and get some footage of me riding with the camera in the new position on the bike and also get some of me riding past the camera. Hopefully the new position and having the gyro stabilisation sorted will improve the quality of the footage. My wife is working Saturday morning and I'll have to take the kids to swimming in the afternoon so it'll probably have to be Sunday afternoon. There is a good chance that it'll be raining on Sunday and I don't want to film all the intro in the rain, but I still may be able to test out the waterproof case and get some shots for the intro. It should help fill out the look and feel if there is different weather conditions in the intro video anyway.
For audio I think that I might be able to just use my phone for any audio that I want to do in the intro, the built in mic is pretty good, failing that I may be able to hide the microphone that is on the headphones that came with the phone somewhere in my jacket and do most of the talking for the intro actually off the bike. Apparently one of the best cheap mics is to actually use one from a pair of iphone earbuds, just cut the earbuds off and put some dead cat over the mic. I thought I may be able to give this a go as I thought my wife has an old pair of iphone earbuds and mic hiding in a draw somewhere. She does but they only have the lightning connector on the end so no good for my phone, bugger! I'll keep searching around the place as others may show up somewhere.

A while back I bought a cheap VR headset that you put a phone into. I haven't even tried out the footage I've taken myself with it yet. It's been sitting on my desk at work for probably close to a year since I lent it to a colleague who was interested in trying one of them out but didn't want to spend the money. Once I've shot the intro, or at least shot some footage with the camera on the new mount, I want to have a look through the headset and see if it looks OK. This is what I'm going to be trying to charge people for on Patreon so hopefully it looks good and I'm happy with what I'm doing.
I've mentioned before about the music and how I will probably end up using a subscription to something like Epidemic Sound. I was watching a new channel (for me) the other night and was really getting in the music that was in the videos and wondered if there were any credits in the description, as it turns out there weren't any specific comments listing the artist or tracks but a comment that said if you want awesome music for your YouTube channel to go to this link, the link was one of the Bitly ones and redirected to..... Epidemic Sound. Oh yeah, and the video above, I just checked the description for that too and yeah, he uses them too. It almost like it's a conspiracy.

Bomber.
Getting excited.
